RELEASES & CATALOG
Bandcamp sells the release. WELX keeps everything around it.
Bandcamp is one of the few places where an independent release can live on its own terms: a page, a price, a fan list and a download. What it does not do is keep the working material that made the release possible, or the material that follows it. That is the part WELX holds.
How WELX fits
- Keep masters, alternate mixes, artwork exports and press files in one WELX workspace.
- Share a release folder with a collaborator without sending a new transfer link each time.
- Show a Bandcamp link on your label’s WELX demo reception page.
What Bandcamp does well
Bandcamp gives artists and labels a page where a release can be streamed, bought and downloaded, with options such as name-your-price and physical editions. It also keeps the relationship with the listener through the fan list. None of that removes the need to keep the files behind the release.
What a release leaves behind
Before a release is live there are masters, instrumentals, radio edits, artwork at several sizes, press shots, a biography and sometimes a video. After release there are event photos, live recordings and new versions. Most of it ends up across email threads, drives and messaging apps, where nobody is sure which file is final.
Keeping the release together
WELX Drive holds the release material in folders you control, and Auto-Sync can keep a working folder on your computer synchronized so the latest artwork or mix is already in the cloud. Music Projects is the place for the production session itself, with its samples and folder structure.
The Bandcamp link on your label page
A WELX label page can list a Bandcamp link with the rest of the label’s profiles. That matters for reception: an artist who finds your demo page can hear what the label releases before deciding whether the submission fits. Link it once and keep the reception and the catalogue next to each other.
Frequently asked questions
Is WELX a store like Bandcamp?
No. WELX does not sell releases or process payments for music. Bandcamp handles the storefront; WELX keeps the files, versions and collaboration around the release.
Can I sell music through WELX?
No. WELX is a workspace for music, projects and event content. Sales stay on the platform you already use.
Can I share a private preview of a release?
Yes. Demo Room playlists can be shared by link and listened to in a browser, which works for private previews to collaborators, press or promoters.
